Japanese first positioning satellite, the Quasi-Zenith Satellite*-1 will be launched in 2010. Because the Quasi-Zenith Satellite uses unique orbit to stay close to the zenith of Japan, during certain time of the day, it will improve positioning accuracy of GPS as well as availability. lnnovative ideas for making full use of the unique characteristics of this positional information will be welcomed. Outstanding ideas received will be introduced to related business industry, institutions and other entities towards realization.

Submission period	February 1st through June 30th, 2010 When submitting materials through postal mail, items must be postmarked by the closing date. When submitting materials via e-mail, materials must be sent by the closing date.
How to apply	After filling out the necessary items on the Application Form, attach Explanatory Materials and send together.
	Explanatory Materials must be prepared in A4 size, even when submitted as data files. No restrictions are set as to format. (doc., ppt., pdf and other files must be 5MB or smaller.)
	When sending materials by postal mail, print out as a packet of A4 sheets and post.
	NB:Submitted works will not be returned.

lntellectual property rights of submitted works

Works must be original inventions of the submitting party’s own creation, and must not infringe upon any copyrights or other rights of any third party.
Submitting parties are requested to process, by themselves, any patent filings pertaining to works by the date on which the event is to be held (scheduled to be September 19, 2010).
Submitting parties agree to transfer copyrights for submitted works to event organizers, and also agree to allow event organizers to publish submitted works, and to partially correct expressions and adapt/translate them.
